OIOVeris
OIOVeris was born from the application of the science of light to Agribusiness
Spectroscopy studies how light is decomposed into its wavelength spectrum as a function of its absorption, transmission, and reflection when it interacts with samples. It provides information about organic and inorganic materials based on the way they interact with light. This technology can open up new possibilities for monitoring agricultural crops and making decisions based on real-world data. Visible and near-infrared spectroscopy can be used to rapidly and non-invasively detect pigmentation and component concentrations in plants through the analysis of leaves or fruits.
Potential applications include:
-
Low-resolution aerial spectroscopy over large agricultural areas;
-
Assessment of the actual characteristics of crops;
-
Monitoring plant development;
-
Studies related to composition and nutrients;
-
Analysis of different stages of crop development;
-
Measurement of parameters of agricultural interest;
-
Development of portable equipment for field analysis.
Portable Spectrometer
OIOVeris is developing the QUANTARA VERIS portable spectrometer. It is a portable device capable of analyzing the five main plant pigments: Chlorophyll, Anthocyanin, Lycopene, Lutein, and Beta-Carotene. QUANTARA VERIS can identify these pigments in leaves, fruits, and roots. In addition to detecting them, it can calculate their percentages in biologically relevant pairs. This makes it possible to identify ripening processes, diseases, and plant stress.
