OIOAstro brings together more than two decades of experience in Astronomical Instrumentation, including the use of Optical Fibers. The use of optical fibers in astronomical instruments is of great importance for establishing an optical path between telescopes and large, high-precision, high-resolution spectrographs that would otherwise be impractical to install directly on the telescope structure. In this way, large telescopes can transmit the light collected by their mirrors through coherent fiber-optic cables, passing through several floors to temperature-controlled and clean rooms, where the spectrographs that decompose the light from the observed objects are located.

We work on the development and integration of optical fiber systems and coherent fiber-optic cables for IFUs (Integral Field Units) and multi-object systems. This includes:

• Assembly and alignment of optical fiber arrays;

• Development of special materials and composites;

• Precision polishing of optical fiber arrays;

• Assembly and integration of optical fiber systems in telescopes;

• Consulting on astronomical instrumentation projects involving optical fibers.

Our experience includes extensive work for major telescopes, including SOAR, Gemini, and Subaru.
